Although it's been around for a decade, the Volkswagen Vento is still one of the most well-rounded packages in the midsize sedan segment. It's well-built, nice to drive, has a decent equipment list and definitely worth considering if you're looking to buy a used midsize sedan.
Good Experience With This Car Very safe and comfortable to drive. Good styling. Very good for long highway rides. Only there is one problem which is low ground clearance.
Now, speaking of the reliability of the Vento. To begin with, the quality of the plastics looks and feels good. The fit and finish too is good enough. Most of the plastic quality is good, however there are some bits that need some improvement.
And reasonably so, whether its driving in the city, going flat out on highways, or attacking corners; it's a great driving machine. Handling is impressively tidy with a precise steering having good feedback making it very engaging to drive. Moreover, its suspension offers an impressive balance.
The 1.6-litre MPI version of the Vento sedan catches a top speed of around 180kmph, while the 1.2-litre TSI sedan remains stable at a top speed of around 175-180kmph. The oil burner is a 1.5-litre TDI unit, which is equally good and hits a top speed of around 175kmph.
